ECO-TOURISM VILLAGE
Project Story
In the agricultural heartland of Juhor al-Deek, young entrepreneurs envisioned transforming their farmland into something extraordinary-an eco-tourism village that would showcase the countryside’s natural beauty while creating sustainable economic opportunities. Built on circular economy principles using local construction materials and recycled greywater, the village represents a harmonious blend of environmental stewardship and economic development. The project’s success is perhaps best measured by visitor reactions, with many Gazans expressing amazement at feeling transported without ever leaving the Strip.
Ram, a young entrepreneur involved in the project, captured this sentiment perfectly: “When they said, ‘It felt like I left Gaza,’ I knew we had built something that inspires escape through simplicity.” The village stands as living proof that Palestinian countryside offers more than agricultural sustenance-it provides a space for healing souls and revitalizing local economies through thoughtful, sustainable tourism.
