Eco-Tourism Village

Veranda helped young entrepreneurs in Juhor al-Deek transform farmland into an eco-tourism village rooted in circular economy principles. Built on circular economy principles using local construction materials and recycled greywater, the village represents a harmonious blend of environmental stewardship and economic development. The project’s success is perhaps best measured by visitor reactions, with many Gazans expressing amazement at feeling transported without ever leaving the Strip.

Ram, a young entrepreneur involved in the project, captured this sentiment perfectly: “When they said, ‘It felt like I left Gaza,’ I knew we had built something that inspires escape through simplicity.” The village stands as living proof that Palestinian countryside offers more than agricultural sustenance-it provides a space for healing souls and revitalizing local economies through thoughtful, sustainable tourism.
