MODEL FARM DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
Project Story
This transformative agricultural initiative centered on empowering young women entrepreneurs to achieve economic independence through smart, sustainable farming practices. The project re-imagined traditional farming by integrating modern irrigation systems and sustainable design principles that dramatically reduce waste while promoting self-sufficiency. The farm became a highly efficient production space that exceeded all expectations, with productivity nearly doubling through innovative techniques.
Perhaps most remarkably, the impact extended far beyond the farm boundaries—participants began applying the same sustainable principles to redesign parts of their own homes, demonstrating how agricultural innovation can reshape entire lifestyles. As farmer Assel reflected, “I didn’t just learn how to grow better, I learned how to think differently about the land.” Funded by GIZ and executed by PARC in 2022, this project exemplifies how changing farming methods can fundamentally transform mindsets and communities.
